Roots & Branches - Caribbean Dance

Wandsworth is London Borough of Culture 2025, and Nzinga Dance have been commissioned by Wandsworth Council and Wandsworth Art to host low-cost community dance classes on Saturday 8th March 2025. 

Please join us for a lively afternoon of Caribbean Dance classes for adults, exploring movement and culture. No experience needed just bring your vibes and a bottle of water. 

1.45-2.45PM Caribbean Dance Women 55+

3-4PM Caribbean Dance

4.15-5.15PM Soca Zouk Groove

Classes will be in the Dance Studio at Chestnut Grove Academy (enter via school back gate on Boundaries Road). Studio is on 2nd floor in the South Block of the school, and there is a lift. 

Directions: 4 minutes walk from Balham Tube, Rail & Overground

Notes:

Filming and/or photography of classes is not permitted. Nzinga Dance may take brief clups/photos as we have to record our work, however these will not identify participants in any way and we use blur technology if necessary

For the 55+ Class please wear a long full wide skirt if you have one. For other classes loose comfortable clothing. Dance in bare feet or flat non-bulky footwear such as non-slip pumps/Dance shoes, or plimsolls.

No food/drink allowed in Studio although water is fine

Dance classes are for participants only. We do not accommodate spectators as we keep in mind those people who prefer not to be watched whilst they're learning a skill.
