Event Description

Birds of Paradise: A Live Musical Experience with Ariane Barnes & Friends.

Tropical AND AFRICAN. Are you looking for trouble? And what does it *really* mean to be both ?

Join Award-winning, multi-disciplinary Artist, Musician and Choreographer Ariane Barnes & her friends as they navigate the untold stories of the Mauritian island girl narrative. This interactive, improvised experience is a vivid exploration of the personal & political stories of island women through epic poetry, percussion, song, dance and humour. Through Ariane's experiences and reflections we'll explore themes of matriarchy, resistance, belonging and the past as a bridge to the future...

'Birds of Paradise' will have you involved from the second you walk in to the moment you leave...

With Special Guests Koroleko Moussa on percussion, Cristiano Tortoioilli on Guitar and a few other suprises...

Perks: Fancy a tropical treat? This ticket Includes 25% off The Femmes Des Iles Workshop in Hoxton on the 26th of July. All you need to do is DM Ariane for the code on Instagram: @arianesmusic and we'll see you on the dance floor 1 week later!
