Ariane Barnes

Ariane is an award-winning, British-Mauritian performer and educator. A true child of the diaspora, she believes in building bridges between cultures and creating awareness and understanding by connecting the past and the present through powerful ritual movement, poetry and music. She has performed on the BBC, The West end stage and International radio.

Passionate about the transmission of cultural heritage, quality teaching and embodied spiritual lineage she helps women reconnect to themselves and their culture through diasporic movement, song and indigenous healing practices.

As a dancer and choreographer she is known for her joyful, exuberant and sensual energy. As a singer she is known for her distinctive, commanding rumble and multi-octave range.

As a teacher of big kids- ahem- sorry- ADULTS, she is known for being straight talking, innovative and kind.

She is a qualified teacher celebrating 25 years of independent performance experience teaching in corporate, mainstream educational, conservatoire, community and private settings.

Past Clients include: The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Carnegie Mellon University, The Federation of Drama Schools, First Dance UK and Mauritius Open Air Festival.
