ZILOKA

Ziloka which means
‘Islands vibrating to the sound of the Ka’ (the Ka being a traditional drum
from Guadeloupe), is a UK based French Caribbean Association founded in 2008.

The
group aims to represent the French Caribbean diaspora in the UK by promoting our
culture and the diversity of our traditional rhythms, singing, and dances which
includes GwoKa from Guadeloupe, Bèlè from Martinique and other art forms such
as storytelling.

We run regular GwoKa dance and drums classes in Brixton and we
also organise workshops for kids and adults and perform at diverse events.

  • Organiser has no live events.
